Abstract

The Rhinoceroses (Mammalia, Perissodactyla) of the vallesian locality of Polinyà (Barcelona)

Since the first discoveries of remains of Tetralophodon longirostris in the area of Polinyà (MN9), this area of 10 km2 has fournished different isolated finds. In this paper, we describe the remains of rhinoceroses found in 1988 and reported as Since Aceratherium incisivum, A. simorrense and Dicerorhinus sansaniensis. As in the case of Can Llobateres, these three species appear associated in Polinyà and, again as in that classic site, A. incisivum is the dominant element.
